First Place for Chiefs Boys Cross Country

Hopatcong High School comes in first at Garret Mountain.

The Hopatcong High School boys varsity cross country team had a stellar showing on Friday.

The Chiefs took home first place in the Maroon Invitational at Garret Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park. The varsity squad wasn't the only one to impress, as the JV team earned second place in its race.

Head coach Peter Oesen said the team was led by senior Dylan Capwell and junior Chris Dugan. The varsity squad is 3-1 so far this season.
