Spartans Fall To Rival in Softball Tourney
Sparta bounced from playoffs after heartbreaking loss to High Point.
Faced with having to topple the No. 9 ranked team in the state, the Sparta Spartans weren't going down without a fight in the NJSIAA quarterfinals Wednesday.
Unfortunately, Sparta lost the fight.
Giving up just one run in the bottom of the first inning, Sparta went scoreless in the game, losing to High Point 1-0, according to nj.com.

High Point could only muster two hits the entire game, while Sparta had four, but the runs are all that matters in the end. High Point's Allyson Frei struck out 13 Spartans over seven innings of work.
Sparta ends the season 14-10 and had the number 6 seed in the NJSIAA North 1, Group 3 playoffs.
