No one will be sleeping at the fifth annual Jersey Wakeoff, happening this Saturday at the Lake Forest Yacht Club. Pulling in wakeboarders from all over the country, according to event organizers it is the largest and fastest growing wakeboarding event in the Northeast.
With a division for every age group and ability, the event averages more than 60 competitors. Each rider has only one chance to perform his or her best maneuvers.
Competitors will be critiqued by three judges based on three main categories: difficultly of tricks performed, how big the rider goes, and the variety and overall impression of the run.
The festivities begin at 9 a.m. at the Lake Forest Yacht Club, 35 Yacht Club Drive, Lake Hopatcong, and conclude with an awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the event is $4 for adults and $3 for children.
