Artist David John Rush Shares Special Story Hour at Louise Childs Library

Special children's weekend event celebrates the 75th year of the Caldecott Awards, which honor picture books.

In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Caldecott Award, which honors U.S. children's picture books, internationally known artist David John Rush will visit the Louise Childs Branch of the Sussex County Library System in Hopatcong for a very special story hour.

Rush, who hails from New Jersey, will share the story of a bear who gets sick and finds that all his friends come to help him. As the story is being read, the artist will draw the pictures on a large scale for all to see. The story will evolve quite literally before the children's eyes.

Registration is required for the event and at press time there are still available seats. When you register, which you can do online, indicate the number of family members attending.
