Rock Out at Anti-Drug Sussex County Battle of the Bands

The band that rocks supreme wins a grand prize of a free session at a local recording studio with a CD produced for distribution

Does your school rock? You can prove it this weekend at the first-ever Battle of the Bands Championship, presented by the Sussex County Department of Human Services, the Sussex County Municipal Alliance and the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.

This event will take place at the McNiece Auditorium of the Sussex County Technical High School in Sparta. Bands from participating high schools will gather for a night of rock in which one champion will be determined.

High schools taking part conducted preliminary contests aimed at determining the band or performer to represent their school in the finale. All performers must sign an Alcohol and other Drug-Free Pledge in order to be eligible to participate. 
The finale will be emceed Ashley Craig, a student at High Point Regional High School and CEO of Students Against Being Bullied.

A documentary of the event will be produced by video production students at Sussex County Technical School. The film will detail the preliminary events and include interviews with performers and Municipal Alliance representatives, a profile of Ashley Craig and S.A.B.B. and the finale.
