I went to Bluegill Cafe with my family this evening for dinner. The food is homemade and very good. It was a pleasure to meet the waitress's Michele and Christina who was very knowledgable with the menu. A big kudo's to the fast and friendliest service... we will be back!

Had lunch there this week, generous serving of food for the $6.00 price! The food was homemade and hot to boot! I would recommend anyone in the area to stop by and meet Alice & Dave (the new owners), they will greet you as if you are a part of the family! A+ for service/price/food

The Bluegill Café is a small hometown restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I went there this weekend to try the breakfast menu. They serve fresh, home cooked food. The omelets are big and the home fries were good. Everything is freshly made including their muffins. The owners, Dave and Alice, are very friendly and try to make sure their dining guests are pleased with their food. While service may have been a little slow, it was well worth the wait for our food. The waitresses were friendly and took care of all our needs. As long as the owners and staff keep aiming to please their customers with fresh home cooked food and friendly, smiling service, the Bluegill Café has a bright future in Hopatcong. I cannot wait to go back and try one of their $6.00 lunch specials in the near future!
The New Owners are very nice people; they have made a few changes that are great. The new Menu is a nice change and now so many items are made fresh from scratch. Alice enjoys cooking and results show in the food. I tried the new $6 Dollar Lunch Special, The Salmon Burger with Bacon and Chipotle Mayo (WooHoo) a welcome change over regular burgers, and it is healthy. This came with a soda, Salad and Fries. More than enough for the money.
