Judge says a year of meeting conditions could lead to a dismissal of sexual assault charge.
If he meets a list of conditions over the next year, a 16-year-old Mt. Olive boy could have a charge of sexual assault of an intoxicated girl dismissed, a judge ruled Wednesday. The teen, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was granted a “deferred disposition,” by Judge Micheal Paul Wright, according to nj.com. The teen admitted to a fourth-degree charge of invasion of privacy, but his attorney maintained that the sexual contact was consensual in September 2012. Mt. Olive Police received a call on a Saturday night in September from a parent who feared her daughter was drunk at a Flanders residence, police reported last year. When officers arrived at the home shortly before 8:30 p.m., the female was found in an upstairs bedroom…

Police found 30 pot plants in the house, Knapp said, some of which were hidden behind false walls. Also, $10,000 cash, a handgun and two shotguns were found in the home, Knapp said. The National Transportation Safety Board recommends reducing the limit. Some say it would save lives. Others say it's unreasonable.
One drink could be the standard for drunken driving – at least for some people if the National Transportation Safety Board has its way. On Tuesday, the NTSB recommended states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent. What do you think? Is this a reasonable proposal? According to a 2011 Mothers Against Drunk Driving report, the latest available data shows New Jersey ranked 31st out of 51 states (including the District of Columbia) in drunken driving injuries and deaths. That year, there were 193 DUI fatalities, MADD said. About 10,000 deaths nationwide a year are related to drunken driving. The NTSB says the lower limit would save 500 to 800 lives a year. Officials at the American …

Kelly said he and another family member went to the mall around 6:30 p.m. and came home an hour later, Kmetz said. When they got home, Kelly said his room was “ransacked,” Kmetz said. Police found a screen door had been cut and an umbrella used …

The witness saw Spina drive the car, with the television inside, around the block to his home on Smokerise Road, Kmetz said. Spina was cooperative when brought to Hopatcong police headquarters, Kmetz said, and granted officers permission to go to his home and retrieve the stolen television from his son's room.
