Sandy-Impacted Residents Get Boost From Neighbors

Event at Pavinci's raises funds for those whose Hopatcong homes were destroyed by storm.

"Robin came to me with an idea to help our neighbors and I wanted to help," Ferra said. The event was designed to benefit three families hit hard by the storm. The Coover family who had three large trees crash onto their house and Bonnie and son, Gavin, had to be rescued by the Hopatcong Volunteer Fire Department. Margaret Smith lived in the home she grew up in, a residence that had six trees uproot the foundation and caved in the entire house. The Nicotras family, Mike, Christy, Mikey and …

Drunk Boater Crashed Into Vessel, Police Say

Incident occurred near Pavinci's on Saturday night, according to authorities.

A drunk man crashed his boat into another vessel in the River Styx cove area of Lake Hopatcong near Pavinci’s Italian Grill on Saturday night, according to Hopatcong police. Police said Lawrence Lohr, 44, of Budd Lake, refused to take an alcohol breath test after they found him on his boat at the crash site. Police said they received a report of a crash near the River Styx bridge just before midnight and found the boats about 1,500 feet into the cove in front of Pavinci’s. Officers used a civilian boat from Johnny’s Marina to get to the vessels after the State Police Marine Division said it did not have a boat on the lake at the time and estimated it would be an hour until they could get to the site. Police say when they arrived they found…

None of this was a problem until I verified my sexual orientation. This is an obvious attack on me due to my sexuality. Homosexuality does not make one a fool. In turn, it makes me more understanding of the less fortunate. I will continue to post my "stupid, strange..." comments. I may be a homosexual, but I am still a man, and this attack on me will be reported to the F.B.I.   more ›
