Heavy snow, winds expected to blanket the Northeast this weekend.
Every time a weather update comes around the forecast becomes more apocalyptic for the storm that's supposed to dump anywhere between inches and feet of snow on the Northeast. Everywhere from eastern Pennsylvania to the top of Maine is bracing for a substantial snow fall, so we're asking you, our wonderful Patch readers, to fill us in with photos, videos and information. District announces closure ahead of 'intense' storm.
All Hopatcong Schools will be closed Friday, Feb. 8 due to the blizzard warning issued for the northern part of New Jersey. The announcement was made early Friday morning as winter snow storm carrying snow and heavy winds approached the area. Meteorologists predict the storm could dump anywhere between 10 and 16 inches of snow on the area during a 24-hour period between Friday and Saturday.

A winter storm expected to produce up to 5 inches of snow moved through the region Saturday. A winter weather advisory was issued for all of North Jersey until Sunday morning. While the main roads may be fine you have to consider what shape the other roads are in. The roads back in "The Hills" are often worse than the rest, there are a lot of trees and the roads don't get much sun to melt it off. Better safe than sorry.   more ›
